Welcome To Ocala Equine Hospital

Ocala Equine Hospital is a surgical referral center established in 1997 to treat elective surgical cases and orthopedic emergencies. We have a full range of advanced surgical and diagnostic equipment enabling us to provide premiere surgical referral services for the region. Our swimming pool recovery system is unique to the region and complements our expertise in fracture repair. We also provide ambulatory services for emergencies, preventative care, lameness, reproduction, radiography and general medical care.

Evan C. Becker, DVM

Dr. Becker was born and raised on a small horse farm in Frederick, Maryland. He attended the University of Kentucky where he was a member of the polo team and obtained his B.S in Animal Science in 2015. With a passion for equine medicine, Dr. Becker continued his education at Auburn University where he received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2019.

Dr. Becker’s personal interests include running or hiking with his fiancé (Joy) and a highly energetic black lab (Allie), traveling, and attending Kentucky and Auburn sporting events.

Madison L. Berger, DVM

Dr. Berger grew up in South Florida riding hunter/jumpers. She earned her B.S. in Animal and Dairy Science at the University of Georgia in 2015. While there she was captain of the varsity equestrian team and earned National and SEC championship titles. Dr. Berger then attended the University of Florida where she received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and a certificate in Business Management. Her professional interests include sports medicine, lameness, and upper airway disease.

When not performing veterinary medicine Dr. Berger can be found riding her hunter, Gladstone, or finding an excuse to do something outside with friends and her Australian Kelpie, Millie.

Kaitlyn N Rigby, DVM

Dr. Rigby was born and raised in San Diego, California, and attended the University of California, Davis for her bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences, with an emphasis in Equine Sciences. After graduating in 2014, Dr. Rigby continued to pursue further education at Kansas State University, where she received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She particularly enjoys sports medicine, lameness, and regenerative techniques.

When not practicing, Dr. Rigby enjoys spending time with her semi-retired warmblood, Fiasco. She also likes hiking and traveling with her opinionated miniature pinscher mix, Lucy.
