Welcome To Ocala Equine Hospital

Ocala Equine Hospital is a surgical referral center established in 1997 to treat elective surgical cases and orthopedic emergencies. We have a full range of advanced surgical and diagnostic equipment enabling us to provide premiere surgical referral services for the region. Our swimming pool recovery system is unique to the region and complements our expertise in fracture repair. We also provide ambulatory services for emergencies, preventative care, lameness, reproduction, radiography and general medical care.

Welcome to our new veterinarians …

Ocala Equine Hospital is pleased to announce that Travis Tull, D.V.M., Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons has joined our practice as Associate Surgeon.  

Dr. Tull is a graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed an internship and surgical residency at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital. Following his time in Lexington, he was a surgeon at Brown Equine Hospital in Pennsylvania before accepting the position as a surgeon and hospital clinician at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Saratoga from 2013 until 2017.  

His professional interests are orthopedics, soft tissue surgery, and lameness in performance horses.   Dr. Tull enjoys all outdoor activities and spending time with his wife and three children.   We at Ocala Equine Hospital feel that Dr. Tull will be a tremendous asset to our veterinary practice in the quest to provide excellent quality care in the areas of surgery and lameness diagnosis.  

Dr. Christina McCrea grew up in North Florida and earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Florida in 2011. She then attended the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 2016. Upon graduation, she joined Ocala Equine Hospital for a one year internship. Since completion of her internship, she has joined our ambulatory practice. Her professional interests include reproduction, neonatal and foal care, as well as lameness.  

Dr. McCrea enjoys spending time with her dog as well as hiking, kayaking, biking, and other outdoor activities.
